ABOUT US

Our founder, Torrie Patterson, created We Understand Youth Outreach in 2013. With the support of her friends, family, and community members she put on the first annual Summer Jamboree. The Pretty ~N~ Pink Program is our biggest event of the year, spreading love and self-worth through pampering 30 young females from the inside out.

We Understand Youth Outreach is an organization dedicated to bringing free programs and events to the at-risk communities in Central Virginia. However, we are not only for those at risk, we are dedicated to helping anyone find their passion. Our mission is to remind teens and children that they are loved and worth where they stand.

We offer events, classes, and programs that teach children the value of self-worth. From physical fitness classes to a full-day pampering session we work to encourage the local youth community members.

Our President: Torrie Patterson

Torrie Patterson, a Prince Edward County native, graduated from Prince Edward High School in '97 and from Longwood University in 2007. She has two beautiful children and a wonderful husband to keep her grounded and focused on her dreams. On top of We Understand Youth, Torrie also enjoys working on her music career as a gospel singer.
